Description

Get ready to experience the best of which Iceland has to offer on this opportune bus tour of the Golden Circle route, crowned with a visit to the wonderful Secret Lagoon. If you only have a limited time for prime sightseeing of the Island of ice and fire, this tour is for you.

After getting picked up from decided locations in Reykjavík City, you will board a bus and head for the one and only Secret Lagoon; a man-made hot spring of natural resources located in the archaic municipality Flúðir. The water stays at 38-40C all year-round.

As you soak in the warm mineral-rich waters and take in the magical scenery, you can reinvigorate yourself before a satisfying day of sightseeing.

The Golden Circle is celebrated for a reason, as you shall see upon visiting its three primary sites of Þingvellir, Gullfoss and Haukadalur.

Þingvellir National Park is a unique terrain of geological phenomena, being located on the very meeting point of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. This is a world in constant creation, as the continental drifting apart can be measured in several centimetres each year in the cracks of Almannagjá.

This vast and scenic area of lava rock fields, lakes, fissures and growth is furthermore the location of Iceland’s very first parliament, established on the site in 930 AD. After having learned about the ancient history of this official World Heritage Site, you will head east to the geothermal valley of Haukadalur.

There is where two famous fountain geysers Strokkur and Geysir call their home. Although Geysir is the very namesake of the phenomena, it is mostly dormant these days. Strokkur however, still erupts every 5-10 minutes, so be prepared to witness the earth spewing out boiling water about 20-40 metres into the air.

Next up is Gullfoss Waterfall, the most iconic site in the entire country. These falls are an incredible sight of unharnessed power as the wide glacial river Hvítá plunges down a two-tiered fall into a great canyon. Remember to bring your camera along for all the extraordinary photo opportunities on your journey.

Don’t hesitate in booking this model tour of Iceland’s primary sights and satisfactions. Check availability by choosing a date.
