Description

Join this fun personal guided day tour transporting you through the rugged, yet beautiful, Reykjanes peninsula as well as the world-famous Golden Circle sightseeing route. The tour starts in the capital city, Reykjavik, but you can choose to finish in Keflavík or Reykjavík, and so is the perfect option for those coming to the end of their holiday in Iceland.

After being picked up from your accommodation, you will first head towards the Reykjanes peninsula and drive towards Grindavík. This an excellent time to sit back and admire the landscape the ocean has helped to fashion over a period of thousands of years.

Along the way, we will stop to visit the remarkable crater Kerið in Grímsnes and the beautiful Lake Laugarvatn. These two features attract thousands of visitors a year for their picturesque charm and stunning natural scenery.

After about a 90-minute drive we will arrive at Geysir in Haukadalur geothermal valley, the first stop on the Golden Circle sightseeing route. Here, you will observe bubbling hot pools, steaming fumaroles and even Strokkur, a might hot spring that erupts every ten minutes.

Following on from Haukadalur, you will travel a little further east to visit the magnificent waterfall Gullfoss, known to be one of South Iceland's most dramatic features. Make sure to have your camera ready; this waterfall makes for a fantastic photography subject.

After sightseeing in these two places, you will begin heading back towards Reykjavík. First, however, you will visit the staggeringly beautiful Þingvellir National Park, the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Iceland. There we will stop and discover the history of this extraordinary site; Þingvellir is the site of the world's oldest parliament, established in 930 AD.

Finally, you will return to Keflavík through Reykjavík, dropping off anyone who would like to hop off at the capital city. So don't delay in booking your chance to grab this fantastic and inclusive Golden Circle tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
