Dogsledding Iceland

One of our favorite things we did in Iceland!! It was about a 40 minute drive from Reykjavik. The guides were all very knowledgeable and friendly. They provided us with warm bibs to go over our clothes and crampons for our shoes, free of charge. We got to spend about 15 minutes petting the dogs and taking photos with them. We spent about 35 minutes on the sled. They answered questions, told us about the dogs, and let us take turns as the “copilot.” Would recommend to everyone!

Such a unique and heartwarming experience! Gwen was an amazing host who made us feel welcome and safe from start to finish. Getting to see the dogs' energy up close is something I’ll never forget. If you're looking for a memorable adventure near Reykjavik, this is it!

The dogsledding tour was fantastic. Our guide Clara was wonderful, taught us all about the types of dogs, position of the dogs, and let everyone in our party get a turn to drive the sled. When I asked my 7yo on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, how would you rate dogsledding, he said 33!!!! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that our family and friends will remember for a really long time.
